BLOG: Today I proposed to the Intergalactic Hustler!
Posted on November 11th, 2006by MastaG
For our 1 year anniversary I took the I. Hustla to a bed & breakfast called the Applewood Inn, nestled in the rolling hills of southern Virginia. This was no ordinary bed & breakfast… it was on a llama farm! We awoke to a delicious breakfast of cranberry/walnut pancakes, then began our day with a hike around the mountain… and we took the llamas with us! Here’s one of the llamas, known as Jack Frost… he was kind of skiddish, but overall well-behaved:

We hiked around the mountain with the llamas for about 2 hours, and by the end of the hike we were pretty darn pooped! After the hike, I suggested we take a walk to the top of the mountain (so I could propose)… she opposed, but I insisted that it was a beautiful day and we have to hike to the top of the mountain for the jaw-dropping view. She was certainly glad I dragged her up there… because at the top of the mountain I got down on one knee, professed my deep love for her, and asked for her hand in marriage!!! She immediately said yes! w00t!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! At the top of the mountain, we had a beautiful 360 degree view of the mountains surrounding us… the Blueridge Mountains (to the east), and the House Mountains (to the north-west). Here’s a picture I took from the engagement spot… you can really see why they call it the Blueridge Mountains.

After I proposed we called our parents, and of course both of our families were ecstatic! I love her parents, and she loves mine… we are lucky to have such a good relationship with eachother’s parents. After talking with our families, we hopped in the Prius and drove to the Virginia Safari Park! It was AWESOME!!! They give you a bucket of feed, and you roll down your window and feed dozens of species of animals including; llamas, zebras, wildebeest, deer, elk, watusi, pigs, camels, ostrich, and other pray animals. Literally as soon as we entered the safari park, a zebra snatched the bucket of food right out of the I. Hustler’s hands!!!!!!!! Seriously, watch this video…
Video:
I can’t believe they actually let people drive through this place! LOL!!!!! While the danger factor is eerily evident, we both had an awesome time! The only damage the animals caused was slobering all over my car… definetely worth it!
We saw this goat making out with the fence….. or something…. we dunno….. but he kept doing it over and over again!

In the “petting area” (separate from the drive-through area) we saw these baby pigs, they were no bigger than guinea pigs… hehe!

Awwwwwwwwwww….. checkout this baby llama…. SO CUTE!! This llama was scared of us at first, but as soon as he saw food he made a B-line for us!

After the safari, we had dinner with my grandmaw and my aunt, who both live in Lexington (which is about 15 minutes from the bed & breakfast). After dinner at my grandmaw’s retirement home, we encountered this beastly cat on our way out, he could barely walk but he was insanely friendly! I love kitties, even kitties whose bellies drag on the ground!!

Needless to say, it was a terrific weekend! Getting engaged was certainly the highlight, and we are both looking forward to spending the rest of our lives together
But seriously, when I think about this weekend, all I can think about is when that FREAKING ZEBRA STOLE OUR BUCKET OF FOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!! HAHAHAHAHHA!!!!!!!!!!!!
